I actually like all Grass Pokémon in this Generation. If I had to pick favorites, Doredia would be on top. She's just beautiful, reminds me a lot of Bellossom. She's actually all Bellossom would love to be, but no matter. I still like Doredia the most, even though I doubt she'll take down Bellossom.

Erufuun is also very cute and cuddly. I really like Jalorda as well. Snide bitchy snake. 8D Virijion is my favorite of the Musketeers and looks pretty graceful too. Marakachi is also cute, as is Shikijika. Mebukijika and Nattorei are cool with their Type combination as well. Yannakie is also pretty cool. Hahakurimo is pretty.

As it is, the only one I don't think too much about is Morobareru. He's just kinda blah. XD

I really liked Yanappu at first (and I still think he's ok) but he did become less special to me when I found out there were two more pokemon that looked very similar to it. :(

I can't believe I forgot Marakachhi in my previous post. Love him too.

Favorite Grass type in Generation V?

I'd say Nattorei, cause' he has great defences. After that, Jalorda because it has style, and Doredia because she's just beautiful and has nice stats. (And can learn Butterfly Dance :))

Kenhorou, is a somewhat disappointment in terms of battling. Sure it's fine for the story until you get Staraptor transfered over, but it lacks everything that made Staraptor near perfect. It gets neither Close Combat nor Brave bird by breeding but access to support moves may be what makes up for it's lackluster attacking set (Though Fly will still settle it's STAB though).

Gigaiath, from what I see so far, is a big improvement from Golem. With the way Sturdy works now it's immune to OHKOs unless it's HP is already down, which it can get back up with Rest or a supporting Pokemon to use the ability again. While it is slower than Golem, it is completely superior in almost every way statistically, even sporting higher HP, Attack, and Special stats (It's Defense is equal with Golem). The lack of most of Golem's dual weaknesses is a big plus as well.
It makes up for it's low Speed with access to moves such as Body Purge and Rock Polish. It even has Lock-On for a guarenteed hit.
Thankfully from what I'm seeing about it's pre-evolutions, it doesn't appear everywhere like Geodude does and also doesn't learn explosion until late levels it won't appear in the wild at, meaning no cheap explosion deaths from training.

the explosion thing would make it slightly better for those that will nuzlocke the game x3

:bounce:My team for Black has to be:
Daikenki,
Gigaiath,
Doryuzu,
Rankurusu,
Shandera,
Sazandora.
Mijumaru is SWEET, so is Yuniran and Hitomoshi. Their evolved forms are just plain awesome. :bounce:

That and whenever I face Geodude or Graveler in everyother game I tend to get no exp when they use Explosion. Since Gigaiath's line doesn't learn it until way later, I won't have that problem.

I don't get why Kenhorou is disliked so much because of Staraptor. Kenhorou simply has a different niche in battling and its own battling style. It may not be as great as an attacker as its predecessor, but Kenhorou, like you said, is a better supporter/staller. Leveling up, it gets Tailwind, Swagger, and Detect while it gets Morning Sun, Lucky Chant, and even Hypnosis via egg move. If Kenhorou must be used as an attacker, just have one with Super Luck + Air Cutter. Spam Air Cutter for repeated critical hits. :ksmile:

Just defendin' Kenhorou here. I honestly don't understand the hate for some of the Isshu Pokemon purely based on battle performance.

I don't either. :/ I love Kenhorou. I don't need it to be another Staraptor. I feel like we're starting to act spoiled...

Also, if they bring out "Gray?" then my team would be:
    • Jalorda
    • Shibirudon
    • Archeos
    • Shubarugo
    • Kojondo
    • Ulgamoth
Jalorda could do the annoying Light Screen+ Leech Seed+ Giga Drain sequence. Shibirudon has no weaknesses:ching:. Archeos can smash and blast his way to glory at the speed of sound. Shubarugo can skewer opponents and take part in pokejousting. Kojondo can attack hard, switch for another Pokemon and heal itself all in the same turn and Ulgamoth can raise it's already holy stats while attacking hard and cause status problems. Arr yay!

I don't care what anyone says, I love Kenhorou, more specifically, the male. So what if it's not "as good" as Staraptor. If used right, it could win. Like others have stated, you shouldn't compare two of them as the early birds, it just seems greedy and selfish. Anyway, my favorite grass Pokemon is Erufuun. It's useful, a sheep, and dare I say adorable.

Kenhorou is alright...but I really love how Hatoboo looks, especially it's cool little fluffy-collar thing. Reminds me of one of those old style English royalty haircuts.

Also, in terms of middle forms, Gantle is another one who caught my attention. It reminds me of some creepy, alien head crab though.

Oh, and for Grass Pokemon, Tamagetake is sooooo tiny it's cute...Maracatchy is also rather neat.

Fuck that shit, I gotta counter my Rock weakness with Close Combat. Kenhorou is just a step above Pidgeot and Fearow. No brave bird is also a huge turn off. It has a decent Attack stat but has no decent physical moves at all. Fly also sucks and is only good for transport. Support mons are also not really that great in game. Have fun getting walled by Steel and Rock types.

I usually catch the early bird, but I'm going to wait for Shinpora.

Kenkourou is a very disappointing Pokemon. Disappointing as in it just feels so bloody average and it runs into competition for preferred in-game flying type.

Speaking of flying types, I find Aaken to be pretty broken in-game. It has already high attacking stats despite being unevolved, you don't need to worry much about Timid/Weak Kneed considering you can heal with potions or berries, and it learns Acrobat almost immediately which has crazy power if your not holding items.

in-game maybe but competitive play would turn this chicken into mcnuggets.

Man, I wish there was someone around here that cared about defense in a bird Pokemon... >.>

Kenhorou is one of the few bird Pokemon in Isshu that can learn Steel Wing, and steel is super effective against rock. Albeit, it learns the move only by breeding. Hypnosis would help, too if you don't mind innacuracy.

Who needs kenhourou when you have wargle anyway

The thing about Wargle (And Vuljiina) is that it's found so damn late in-game and evolves at lv. 54. Geechisu's highest leveled Pokemon is lv. 54. ._.

Edit: Ninja'd...

Well EXP looks like it is very easy to get in this game. Tabunne seems very easy to encounter and you get a lucky egg. My only problem with Wargle is that he is in the "slow" experience group. The group that has 1,250,000 at level 100. They take so long to level up if you don't have a lucky egg.

Steel Wing is alright. It doesn't do anything to combat Steel pokemon. Hitting Ice types is almost irrelevant because you don't fight them often. The sekka city gym doesn't count either. I honestly should just accept that Staraptor is gone now and have to work with what is available in the isshu region.

To be honest I feel like Gamefreak is trolling us really hard this generation.
