Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

I swear if Nintendo is stupid enough to name a pretty boy celebrity like Dento, Danny Im gonna bust some heads. I just prefer him to be changed to Dent.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

Spellin'. Romanization. It's pronounced Dento n spelled Dento.デント
=Dento.
You don't know Japanese, now do you?

Wonder if they will continue with the insults and suspicious off-screen domestic violence with TR. Hope not.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

Im wondering about the voices for some of the characters. I just have a feeling that Iris will probably end up sounding really racist/stereotypical. Voice can capture the character, and I always find that some of the dub voices dont suit the character

I think TPCi is aware of Pokemon's past controversy and don't want to provoke it again.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

lol, they won't use all dub music. The dub has kept TR's themes and such almost all of the time. As for the opening, it's not going to be that great. Though in their defense, I really don't like the Japanese opening for BW very much as well.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

argh...i don't expect anything US dubbed (pokemon) to be good nowadays :(
i don't like the new VAs....
(oh and the new openings suck so bad )

well, for me... i'll just stick to the japanese (+subbed) best wishes if it gets awful =X

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

I think Iris/Dento will be handled fine.

All the new Sinnoh characters were handled pretty well, such as Dawn, Paul, Barry, Zoey, etc.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

Dialogue-wise, I wonder what'll happen with Dent's strange food metaphors. I can totally see them rolling with it and adding ones into sentences that were devoid of them originally.
Ishizumai is great with Pansage dressing and all that.
I think Iris and her 'Kodomo, ne?' will be safe, in any case. They don't really go out of their way to change what the protagonists say.

Speaking of Iris; You know whoever voiced Candice in the dub? I can totally see her being Iris' english VA.

And they'll make them rhyme.

I wouldn't be surprised if they translate it to something like "So Childish..." or something similar that fits a specific moment.

Kether Donahue. As long as she doesn't speak about the Kiai that isn't explained to English speaking audiences; sure, by thinking of it as an abbreviation of Killing Instinct (sounds like "KI") then it still has a similar meaning, but... To be honest though, her voice annoys me anyway.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

I will jsut say you will be very surprised at the amount of BGM that can be played to portray similar moods.

If we are talking about good dub choices, I would like to see Eileen Stevens do a more consistent voice in Pokemon. She is awesome in Yugioh, so why not have her in Pokemon as well? Also, I would prefer it if they don't repeat actual voices.

I don't know JNP but I am studyin' Hiragana n Katakana n school n have it 2/3 mastered. I do know JNP I know good n well ppl r sayin' Dent is the intended spellin'. But it's spelled Dento.

In terms of voices I'd rather TPCi stick with who they know. I could totally see Aaron Dismuke voice Dento perfect voice n age.

Why not have them go get Jason Griffith up the block? or go out of their way to get Veronica Taylor as Iris?

I hope your right: we dont want to see Iris suddenly turn purple half way through the series now do we? :p

I dont know about usin' Veronica Taylor she was May, Delia, n Ash n would feel a little to similar to have her as Iris since Iris is a wild child n she doesn't have much destitation between her May n Delia voices Id rather we get someone else younger maybe maybe even a teenager.

Yeh guys Isshu/Unova is based on America. In Isshu their r ppl with American names like Iris n Don George. Iris's hair n skin tone r defiantly big indicators she's black. Let's just hope TPCi doesnt eff things up.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

"Once we find our fiendish friend Flint, we'll bag another bountiful briefcase before bedtime!"

"Sublime!"

I sure hope the dubbers don't do that since it kind of kills the new serious mood team rocket is now trying to make. I'm not to concerned about who's voicing who since the voice acting is improving. It's just the dialogue I'm worried about.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

Would I be told off if I thought Vic Mignona was the first person I thought of as Dent's English VA?

Hah, I'm worried now.

Re: Are you concerned about dubbed Best Wishes?

Dento's JNP va is the same guy that voices that pretty boy freak n Host Club or what ever it's called n Vic's the eng one for that same guy so I could see him bein' Dento only things is he dont live n New York n he's probably expensive Id think TPCi rather get a newbie then pay a bucket load of money for Vic.

TCPI ruining the mood with bad dialogue? Why I never! But, TR is my main concern. Even if they get the lines correct, I'm not sure how I can grow used to a "serious" dub TR...they tried it once, and it was a barely satisfactory.

I happen to like that "pretty boy freak" very much, thanks ;)

Vic is way too top tier...I doubt TCPI could get a hold of him. Anyways, I honestly can't imagine his voice that well for Dent...even though Miyano hardly differentiates his voice from from Dent to Tamaki (the "pretty boy freak").
