So in each of the main games, there's always that one Pokemon, or maybe that small bunch, that you just find downright irritating to face as you play through the game.

Here's some of mine:

Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: Bronzor. It's used fairly often by the evil team, it doesn't seem to die in one hit from anything and then will hit you with Hypnosis and Confuse Ray (Hypnosis being 100% of course) to just annoy the hell out of you.

Heart Gold/Soul Silver: Koga's Muk. The Toxic + Minimize combination is rage-inducing if it starts. And Muk is pretty bulky so outside of Earthquake it's not going down in one hit most likely.

Black/White: Watchog. Same as Bronzor, it wields an ungodly accurate Hypnosis when used by the AI, it will also use Confuse Ray too. But to top it all off it has Super Fang to keep stripping chunks off your Pokemon while they sleep. Annoying.

XY: Wobbuffet in the Reflection Cave. While they aren't very common, when you do encounter one, you can't run from them/switch out. Then you have to play around the guessing game that is "will it use Counter, Mirror Coat or Destiny Bond" usually ending up in the AI's favour, as always, meaning your Pokemon will end up dead. It's even worse in a Nuzlocke run.

Sturdy mons as a whole get a mention for surviving hits they shouldn't. Roggenrola with Sand-Attack in Black/White was particularly infuriating because one Sand-Attack was all it needed to cause you to keep missing if your luck was bad enough (which in one case mine was).

Which are yours?

Recently, I have begun skipping the Furfrou double battle on Route 6. Alone, fine. Two of them, and the trainers get a Super Potion? No thanks. Skip skip skip.

Emolga in Black. Holy Arceus, I hated that thing with a passion, and that was before the BW anime even began airing. Double Team, Static, Elesa's Volt Switch Duo... every time I read "[trainer] sent out Emolga!", I wanted to scream, "NOOOOOOO!"

Speaking of Arceus, I really get annoyed every time some cheap arse sends one out holding a Pixie Plate in competitive. I also quickly leave if a Darkrai's involved in a Triple Battle. Those things are REALLY cheap but effective.

Also, Sturdy suicide bomber Graveller. There's almost no safe option other than to just run away.

Not a specific trainer's pokemon but Gyarados if i'm not packing an Electric type pokemon/move, this thing without an Electric move is the most annoying thing to take down, this pokemon is main reason why i always have Thunderbolt in my team now.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

Quagsire of Bertha from DP even tough it was incapable of hurting my Gyrados it was so annoying with its defense and not to mentain it used Protect and Double team to make it even a longer battle.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

Pokemon 50 levels lower living with sturdy is a good one.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

Wikstrom and his damn Probopass! This thing just stalls as you hit it and then Wilkstrom heals it with a super potion because it has sturdy.

And Zubats and Golbats, usually used by Team Galactic and in caves because y'know... confuse ray is freaking annoying!

But really, any trainer who has a bulky Pokemon (usually with sturdy) that loves to use all their potions on it.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

I found Roselia in Sapphire and Platinum to be pretty insufferable. All those leeching moves, plus Stun Spore made for some pretty painful battles.

Not the first time that's happened, there was Marshal's Sawk before that. God did that not help my Archeops any.

Yeah, the AI makes it really annoying because they end up wasting all of their potions on it and dragging out the battle.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

I took care of Probopass pretty easily. All it takes is a couple of STAB Earthquakes and the thing's history.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

R/B/Y: Zubat. So annoying. Crobat makes up for it in Gen II and beyond, though.

G/S/C: Whitney's Miltank for obvious reasons.

R/S: Tentacool. Same as Zubat in R/B/Y, but they're everywhere thanks to Hoenn's endless oceans.

Platinum: Cynthia's Garchomp. Just a pain to deal with.

HG/SS: Blue's Gyrados. Got careless and allowed it to get in 2 dragon dances. The rest wasn't fun.

BW/2: Elesa's Emolga. Double team spam.

X/Y: Goodra. I tend to rely on special sweepers, so Goodra is always a huge problem for me.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

I remember when I played through HeartGold last year when I first got back into the games, that Karen's Umbreon was a real pain in the backside to take down, between Double Team spam and Confuse Ray, I was lucky to get a hit in, ever. I also had no real strong fighting/bug attacks on my team, and Fairy didn't exist in Gen IV. What I ended up doing after about the fourth or so time flubbing my E4 run at Karen, was let Gyarados set up a Rain Dance, and blasted the little bugger with Magneton's Thunder, since it can't miss in the rain. And even still, because the little bugger is a freaking tank for special attacks, it took about three Thunder blasts from Magneton to bring it down.

Anything with Sturdy and Self-Destruct/Explosion. Those two moves have been the bane of my existence to begin with, and they only got worse once Sturdy got upgraded.

Pokemon with Shadow tag or arena trap, they can be annoying when you don't feel like fighting Pokemon as you travel.

That pretty much summarizes what I find the least appealing to fight. I have an easy enough time with pretty much any opponent I face in-game, so I am not truly bothered by anything when it comes to battling. However, whenever I don't feel like fighting any wild Pokemon, those with Arena Trap or Shadow Tag come across as a pain, as I find them to be nothing but a waste of my time. At least I am great buddies with Repels...

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

You know, I never found Whitney's Miltank to be that hard, or at least not as hard as people make her out to be, but in Gens 1-3, I found Zubat and Golbat to be extremely annoying, for obvious reasons.

In Gen 4, we had any trainer with a Bronzor, because of protecting moves and Hypnosis, better yet, any Pokemon that has both those moves becomes really annoying. Gen 5 had the Patrat family which had the same traits, but it also had Elesa and her accursed Emolgas, though Zebstrika was annoying too with it's ability constantly increasing it's speed.

Wikstrom and his damn Probopass! This thing just stalls as you hit it and then Wilkstrom heals it with a super potion because it has sturdy.

If anything, I found his Aegislash far worse, with it's constant spamming of King's Shield, and the fact that it's part Ghost type means it's only weak against Fire if you're a Fighting type user.

Pokemon with Shadow tag or arena trap, they can be annoying when you don't feel like fighting Pokemon as you travel.

This is the reason why I use repels whenever I go in areas with those Pokemon, though in X/Y they're harder to avoid on Route 13 when the moving blotches of dirt move closer to you.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

Oh yeah, Aegislash was a pain. Probably the toughest Pokémon in that Elite 4 for me.

King's Shield in general is a pretty OP move. +3 priority, protects it from damage, AND halves the opponent's Attack? And then combine that with Aegislash's Stance Change, which raises its defense even more. Yeah, that's complete overkill, one of those things needs to go.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

One of the most annoying Pokémon for me is Emolga, specifically Elesa's. Most of my Unova team was either Water or weak to Electric.

Re: Most annoying Pokemon to face when playing through the games.

It really bugs me that about everywhere in Sinnoh there are only these 4 evolution lines present: Starly, Bidoof, Roselia and Floatzel. Try to find a route without them, you can't. They're everywhere!
