So presumably the episode will end with Clemont deciding to give his Luxio a present he made himself which will explode and destroy the tree?

Coumarine City holds a festival once a year. Serena hears that according to tradition, if people give their Pokemon presents below the "Vow Tree" during this, it will strengthen their mutual bonds. Keeping it all a secret from Pikachu and the other Pokémon, she takes Ash with her to go shopping for presents. However, Serena is so focused on the fact that the two of them are alone together she's unable to pay enough attention to the shopping.
In my opinion, even if Ash aged (or matured or whatever), he would act exactly the same about romance and stuff. He's just not meant for it.

It sounds as if Serena is just using shopping as an excuse to have some alone time with Ash.
Today is the day of a festival celebrated once a year in Hiyoku City. After hearing that giving a present to their Pokémon under the biggest tree in the city, the "Vow Tree", on this day will strengthen the bond between them and the Pokémon, Satoshi and Serena go shopping for presents. This is the first time the two of them have gone shopping all by themselves, without Pikachu, Citron, Eureka or any of their other Pokémon around. Serena feels it's just like a date, and is secretly overjoyed about it.

Well, judging by the actor list, it seems like we'll have the complete cast of Pokémon here (though I'm not placing any bets for Pumpkaboo), or at least I hope so due to the whole theme the episode has. I wonder if Clemont and Bonnie will have to deal with Team Rocket, because it'd be a letdown if Ash and Serena are interrupted by them, specially since they won't have their Pokémon. Speaking of that, I always love it when Pikachu is treated like a separated character, rather than just the one who, when not battling, sits on Ash's shoulder and mimicks everything he does. Even if I don't like this shipping nor how Serena will be acting, I'm still looking forward to this episode a lot, so far.
That's right, all the voice actors are listed. The thing is the only Pokémon that doesn't really have a strong reason to appear is Pumpkaboo, as Inkay is confirmed, and all the protagonists' Pokémon should be with Clemont and Bonnie and then receive the presents. Fletchinder doesn't appear in the preview, but I don't see why it wouldn't be there. If they want to treat it poorly as usual and not giving it any role in the episode, at least it could get a speaking cameo with the rest of the team at the Vow Tree or something.Well Jessie's Pumpkaboo shares the same VA as Dedenne, so it could still appear. Also, Fletchinder is going to be in this episode, so unless it just appears in a flashback, Ash is probably going to use it. Although, maybe Clemont or Bonnie could command it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
