If Pikachu stars in this I will be extremely mad. Pikachu has had his time to shine. I hope he is the fall guy and is defeated by Bunnelby. Also, hope Goodra wins the match for Ash. Just focus as little as possible on Pikachu. This overuse of him has already gotten to far. Dont make it worse, I´d say.

He's starred in 3 Kalos gym matches so far so I'm hoping Bunnelby defeats him also. He's taken down Surskit and Vivillon in Santalune City. He took down Tyrunt in Cyllage City. He even took down Mega Lucario in Shalour City. His victories there ALL won Ash the badge. Pikachu losing first will really show off that Clemont means business here and he's not gonna let Ash have the badge that easily, even if they are friends. Even if they've been traveling together for a while now.

Ash will always be better than his companions though, so Clemont will NEVER get his shining moment against Ash.Period.

Misty beat Ash in the Whirl Cup, and Iris got hers with Excadrill beating Pikachu, with Ash ending up beating her two tournaments later, so it's not like it has never happened.

I think Clemont beating Ash is possible, not incredibly likely, but definitely possible. Keep in mind that this gym battle is happening only 9 episodes after Ramos, so if the staff wanted they could make Ash lose to extend the time it takes for him to beat him.

So you've seen the entire episode, then? Then please share with us the full line-up then.

Oh wait, nobody can do that. So therefore you're assum(arill)ing. I would strongly advise you to not do this.

Honestly, I don't get what is the POINT of Clemont leaving the group for training when the end result will be predictable knowing THESE incompetent writers.

Then please tell us exactly what happens in the episode since you've clearly seen it before anyone else has.

Again, assuming is not advisable.

I honestly don't care if Clemont leaves if doing so will make the battle better.

For example, his Bunnelby allegedly learns Wild Charge between Clemont's departure and this battle. That might come into a complete surprise for Ash and may even throw off his (or Pikachu's) battle performance, thus putting Ash at a disadvantage. If Ash knew that Bunnelby had access to that move prior to the fight, at least he could have some idea on how to counter Wild Charge.

It also makes the battle a bit more interesting because we know the first part of Pikachu vs. Bunnelby will be a repeat of their previous fight, but then the Wild Charge will change everything.

Another example would be Ash's Sliggoo evolving into Goodra and learning a new move. Clemont wouldn't have any real idea on how to counter that either.

Tl;dr: The fact that Ash and Clemont won't be together for the next few episodes will make the battle better because 1) Clemont won't be around when Sliggoo evolve and learns Dragon Pulse, and 2) Ash won't be around when Clemont's Bunnelby learns Wild Charge.

Just like Dawn vs. Zoey at the Grand Festival, both trainers have a hidden ace up their sleeve (in the aforementioned example, Togekiss and Gallade, respectively) that their opponent is unaware of.

I know what's going to happen based on how predictable and incompetent the writers in general are. If Ash really did lose here then the next episode would be about him training his Pokémon for a rematch with Clemont or it would be Ash being upset about his loss to Clemont.

Woah..... Its not their fault that people take CoroCoro episode titles seriously on this forum.

Assuming any of the Japanese kids that do not buy the magazine and do not know future title names, everything is possible for them.

Yeah, with the titles, we can auto assume Ash won. BUT! It haven't happened yet! Like the Skrelp episode, which is delayed for unforeseen condition. Who says the writers cannot change the script in the last minute? No rule says: Producers can't change episode title after it as released by CoroCoro. It never happened, but who can say it WILL not happen?

You are like: We already know Ash is going to win based on the future title we got. Its boring.

The I can tell you one thing. Ignore posts about episode titles and CoroCoro scans (in fact, just ignore preview threads). Then watch the show. No more spoilers before it even airs. End of case.

Edit: Based on the title under your username, I can only say: If you don't watch it. Why bother reading scans and then complain about them? I cannot understand your motive of reading the scan at all. Is that just so that you can complain about it?

YOU KNOW that episodes are produced and finished months ahead so sadly there WON'T be a script change at any time now sorry. SO yeah get ready for a predictable result with Ash winning as usual.

OK then, tell us exactly what's going to happen....oh wait, you can't, because you haven't seen it.

You said the exact same thing about the Ramos gym, where you assumed that Pikachu would star (inspite the title saying Frogadier would), and yet Pikachu never even participated.

And there's no need to be so rude either.

When did I say such a thing, unless you go on Serebii where I posted such things.

Anyway I am just not confident that the writers will be unpredictable here despite them being unpreictable for the last few episodes. So I fully expect Ash to defeat Clemont first try.

Isn't it about how Ash will win? How'll he counter Electric Terrain? Heliolisk's speed? Bunnelby's new move? Also, what will Clemont's flaws in this battle be? And last but not least...How will Ash find it?

It's pretty much the gist of every gym battle episode(although I bet Ash will struggle most against the Fairy and Psychic Gym leaders, especially Fairy)

The thing is it will be very predictable as he will counter very thing Clemont throws at him with just Pikachu I bet with his other two Pokemon being the fall guys. Plus what's the point of Clemont NOW training if he won't get his shining moment against Ash.

Of course it's predictable, do you really think Ash is going to fail his badge quest?

At best, Ash won't be able to enter the league because he's too late. But he's not going to fail getting his 8 badges.

But why does any of that matter. It's not like there's any "new" thing that could happen. Gyms are predictable, basically you have to deal with it, and not complaint about something that was obvious since the 1st generation.

No, I am saying that Clemont should/should have beaten Ash he first time round then he develops a rivalry then they have another rematch after Ash gets 7 badges maybe a 5v5 or 6v6 battle this time and a match that they REALLY won't forget for the rest of their lives and it also makes Clemont less usless for the second half of the series plus it builds tension.
