What old type combos would you like to see be done as new Pokemon?

or as mega evolutions ? what dual-types are still rare?

The Rotom formes are an obvious one pls. Electric/Fire, Electric/Ice, Electric/Grass all would be nice to see on something unique (meaning their own lines, not the joined machine formes of one Pokemon). Maybe more "animal" for them next time, since Rotom displayed their inanimate object potential pretty well.

Water/Poison would be nice to see again. It's a very useful typing yet weirdly we haven't see another since Qwilfish back in Gen II! Yeah, there's Tentacruel before that, but that was even longer. (Not including Skrelp because it's not fully evolved.)

I'll try and think of some more and post back later. I'm sure there's loads I'd like to see done again and approached from a different angle.

Bug/Water and Bug/Ground really got shafted, both of them were introduced in Hoenn but they evolved into Bug/Flying, which is one of the weakest and overused type combinations ever. Neither of them has gotten a proper, fully evolved Pokemon, and there's a lot of potential in those type combinations. I could see Ground/Bug being good for an earthworm Pokemon.

Definitely. Electric doesn't get a lot of interesting type combinations, it'd be nice to see them on a new family.

Dragon/Fire, Dragon/Water, Dragon/Grass, Dragon/Electric, Dragon/Rock, Dragon/Steel, Dragon/Water, Dragon/Poison, Dragon/Psychic, Dragon/Ghost and Dragon/Dark. Maybe a better Dragon/Fairy type.

I'd love to see a non-legendary Ice/Flying that's actually useful! (Delibird's pathetic.)

I'd also love to see a new Bug/Water and Bug/Ground - and please, this time no evolving them into Bug/Flying!

A new Water/Ice type would be good too. That used to be the main Ice-type combo but we haven't gotten a new Water/Ice Pokemon since the Spheal line. I think a penguin would be a good Water/Ice candidate - I know we already have the Piplup line, but using a different species of penguin like Adelie, Gentoo, or Chinstrap could work. (I think Piplup is supposed to be an Emperor Penguin.)

I'd like to see another steel/flying type combo. Although I'm not a real fan of Skarmory (its 3D-model is soooo bad) , I do think it is an interesting pokemon. It has the highest base Defense of all flying types and I would like to see them doing something similar with Special Defense.

I want a Bug/Water line that stays in that type combo through the whole line and not evolve into something crappy like Bug/Flying. An actual Bug/Ghost line too.

Water/Bug
Water/Steel
Dragon/Fire
Dark/Ghost

Those are a few of my top picks. I've always been disappointed that Surskit lost its unique Bug/Water typing upon evolution, only to become yet another mostly useless and typical Bug/Flying type.

Water/Fighting: Keldeo's a hard to get legendary and Poliwrath is sorely lacking in the wrath department. A beta fish, swordfish or narwhal can be good places to start and we don't have any of those either.
Bug/Water: Surskit could have been interesting but it wasn't meant to be it seems. A good idea imo for a Bug/Water is a moon version of Volcarona which would also make sense type wise.
Fire/Steel: Heatran is so dope but it's the only one and there aren't many of those. Plus you can't breed it for good stats and it's a bit on the slow side.
Poison/Flying: It can be a very effective type and we haven't seen another of these since Crobat.
Poison/Ground: Same as above but with the Nido family.

I want to see some Dark/Fairy pokemon, something that is not so....cute as the current generation of Fairy types.

Last time I checked, Dark/Fairy hasn't been done before. This topic is about type combinations that have been done before that we'd like to see again.

Bug/Ghost: Kinda sad the only one we got is nearly a joke character in this day and age. There's plenty of spooky looking bugs in the world that can be used as a basis.
Dragon/Steel: Hydreigon was originally gonna be one of these but the old idea of a cyborg dragon can still be used as a mega or a new Pokemon.
Fairy/Electric: We need a real Electric Fairy because Dedenne is a uninspired, useless sack of Pokemon manure and the type itself does have potential.
Poison/Dragon: Dragalge is cool but there's lots of things for this type to base itself on. The amount of dragons in mythology that are poisonous is quite large.
Grass/Dragon: I love mega Sceptile but I think we need a proper Grass Dragon. It wouldn't be difficult to make another of these.

I need a SpAtk oriented Dark/Water and a new Water/Electric. Make the first an anglerfish, and the second... idk? Many oceanic fish have electric generating/sensing equipment, and I think it was lame that lanturn got the typing when an anglerfish would serve water/dark so well! Plus, I've never been the biggest fan of lanturn's design. It's like a dolphin with a lamp on its head, not a real anglerfish.

I'd also like to see another dark/fire.

Also, I know it's not a well-loved type combo, but I'd like to see fire/rock stegosaurus.

I'm actually against reusing old type combos just for the sake of it. Think about how wonderfully unique Ferrothorn, Galvantula and Volcarona are. I'm not saying that it can't happen, but an arbitrary reason isn't enough of a reason. First comes the pokemon, then the type, not the other way around.

it's sometimes good to turn it around to see if you can create something other then normally.
The way is important but the result is more important.

We have pokemon that are based on water creatures but are ground types, but also those who are actual water types.
Some combos are overused others are unique, but why not make other kinds, then there would be more diffrent pokemon.

Ghost/bug, agreed.
Water/bug usable.
Ice/electric, with its own line.
electric/Fire with its own line. A starter would be great with this combo.
A ghost/dragon non legendary.
Fire/steel non legendary.
A fire/dragon that it isnt mega evolution.
Grass/dragon that isnt mega evolution.
Poison/flyng that actualy can use fly.
And a pure poison legendary.

The regional birds with more interesting types. Fletching is a good start. I would like see a electric/flyng regional. Or a dark/flyng and psychic/flyng. On differents regions, of course.

I think they could help fix this with Mega Evolutions of older Pokemon. Noctowl would make a good Psychic/Flying and they could probably get away with making Staraptor Fighting/Flying.

But certainly newer regional birds should continue what the Fletchling line did.
