The Nagoya RTA is scheduled to go live from May 3rd to May 5th. While predominantly an in-person series of marathons, they have recently started holding online events, including the RTA EXPERIENCE series of marathons. This particular marathon will feature two Pokémon games, and can be watched from its Twitch channel.

Pokémon Mega Festa event in Seoul cancelled due to overcrowding, as over 40,000 visitors arrive for card giveaway

The big Pokémon 30th anniversary event scheduled for South Korea is the Pokémon Mega Festa, a title which encompasses several different celebrations including themed areas, merchandise, athletic events, and tie-ins with Pokémon GO. One of the introductory events for Mega Festa’s opening day, May 1st, was a Pokémon GO stamp rally with a Pokémon TCG card as the completion prize. The event has been suddenly cancelled due to large crowds flooding into the Pokémon Secret Forest, in Seoul Forest Park in the Seongdong District of Seoul.

“PokéNational is dead” — Nintendo copyright strikes 20 videos from Pokémon nature documentary-style YouTuber; entire channel scheduled for termination

Elious, the creator behind the PokéNational series, has recently uploaded a video explaining to fans that the PokéNational channel is scheduled to be terminated by YouTube seven days after April 25th. Nintendo of America (NOA) has issued at least 20 copyright strikes against videos on the channel, triggering YouTube’s policy of terminating a channel after three unresolved copyright strikes. While some avenues of recourse are available for the creator, they have expressed the severity of the situation: “Yeah, I’m one guy. This is Nintendo of America.”

Speedrun of Pokémon Puzzle League to feature in the Retrothon 2026 speedrun marathon this coming Thursday

The team at RetroGamingLive are presenting the 2026 edition of Retrothon from April 18th to April 26th. The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) has announced details for their Pokémon Night Out, which will consist of two EDM concerts with artists Marshmello and Alison Wonderland performing. The first concert will take place October 24th of this year in Los Angeles, and the other will be on November 10th in London. Both concerts will feature Pokémon-inspired visuals, special effects, and other stage technology.

The Pokémon Company International disapproves of recent Pokopia meme from the White House

The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the White House has shared a meme making use of the Pokémon Pokopia logo, to the chagrin of The Pokémon Company International (TPCi). The Tweet features Donald Trump’s infamous mantra, Make America Great Again, in the Pokopia title font. TPCi has responded with a statement firmly disassociating itself from the controversial administration. Sravanthi Dev, spokesperson for TPCi, said: We are aware of recent social content that includes imagery associated with our brand. We were not involved in its creation or distribution, and no permission was granted for the use of our intellectual property. Our mission is to bring the world together, and that mission is not affiliated with any political viewpoint or agenda. TPCi has previously had to distance itself from the Trump White House, when in September of last year the official Department of Homeland Security (DHS) X account posted a video with the “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” tagline...

Nintendo asks Pokémon TCG shop in NYC to change name and branding after being hit by $100k USD robbery

After being the victim of a robbery for $100,000 USD worth of Pokémon cards, among other merchandise, owners of a Pokémon Trading Card Game shop in New York City have been asked to change their name and branding, which included Nintendo trademarks. The robbery, which occurred on January 14th of this year, apparently brought so much publicity to the shop that Nintendo took notice.
