I guess Mega Evolutions

They never did such thing as "dramatized depictions" with box art legendaries.
I am not saying they doing "dramatized depictions" of the mascots is something impossible to happen. I just don't see why one would choose to believe that this is the case here, when Groudon and Kyogre getting Mega Evolutions is much more likely to be the case. Mega Evolution is the gimmick of Generation VI, after all. The "dramatized depictions" scenario is quite unlikely, since there is nothing supporting it.I don't see why that means they never could. Gen III's art is already in Sugimori's "new" style, so I don't see why the concept of this boxart simply being dramatized and dynamic representations is so hard to swallow.

I just see these looks being similar to Reshiram and Zekrom when their tails light up or how Xerneas changes color when in battle. They might make Groudon and Kyogre do like Xerneas if the sun or rain is out.
Mega Groudon and Kyogre were trademarked back in 2013 though, so out goes that theory. For all we know, they could pull a breeding-in-FRLG by making the new legendaries be Megas, and Game Freak just say "meh, it was always there", then Pokémon Z confirm the retcon by saying that it's not that Mega Evolution was just discovered, only that it first happened in Kalos. And the same will happen with Gardevoir and the other Hoenn fairies.
Yeah, I've just said in another thread that GF probably won't be subtle with putting Mega Evolutions into ORAS. Should have seen it happening here.
Though it did say that it was a Kalos exclusive, or at least they were discovered in Kalos first.
Mega Mewtwo X and Y exist, that's not an excuse to not make mega evos for the Weather Trio.So the next big thing is finally here.. wow. And I thought it was never gonna happen. Maybe GF does look at what some of the fans are saying after all. One thing about Kyogre's and Groudon's megas tho.. Rayquaza too. I mean they are pretty high up there even by uber standards but imagine them with megas. Wouldn't that be too OP? New form with different stat distribution maybe. Mevos I don't know.

That is so, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the Kyogre and Groudon we're seeing are Megas. They just aren't different enough from their "regular" counterparts for me to buy that they are. In any case, there is such a thing as too gimmicky, and making the box legendaries Megas would probably be it. There's no evidence for them being Megas beyond "it's the generation's gimmick," so it strikes me as a little hypocritical to dismiss the idea that they're redesigns or dramatic depictions on a lack of evidence.
Mega Venasaur is very clearly distinct from its normal counterpart in a number of ways, not just its markings. That doesn't mean they never could do "dramatized depictions" of the mascots. But Venusaur is barely different
Do you think it will be more than a side by side release like B/W 2 and silver/gold that wont change any gameplay or introduce new pokemon. If they add new mega evolutions than it would not be compatible with X&Y right?

You can't use the Giratina, Rotom and Shaymin formes in battle against D/P can you? could just be the same thing.
Here's a thought. What if the Orbs are actually Mega Stones?
So Pikachu absorbed a Mega Stone in the anime?
...Think about that....
But no, that would be a neat idea. And since no one knew about Mega Evolution in the R/S, they were largely ignorant to that fact and only abused a certain amount of the Orbs power. Now in present day, massive gains in Mega Evolution research have been made (thank you Prof. Sycamore, Calem/Serena, etc), and it's been discovered that the Orbs are actually Mega Stones as well. Cue two new villainous teams trying to each obtain an Orb, to not only control the respective Legendary, but utilize their true potential and power as well, to eventually rule the world (if not expand the land or sea...again).
Sound about right?
