Pokemon names you mispronounced?

That Suicune thing was just horrible.

To me, Rayquaza is still Ray-kwah-zah but in conversations I will use the correct pronunciation.

Spinarak > Spine-a-rack
Togepi > To-jep-ee
Bellossom > Bell-o-somme
Azumarill > Az-yu-mar-ill
Houndour > Hound-ore
Larvitar > Lar-vi-tar (I understand why it is pronounced Lar-vae-tar, but I still find it weird)


Ones the Anime need to pronounce right:
Butterfree not Budderfree
Skitty not Skiddy etc
Jew-gong, not Doo-gong > Dewgong
Tau-ross, not Tau-rowse >Tauros (Zap-doss etc, just others ending in "dos")
Lap-ras not Lap-riss > Lapras
Ore-ia-dowse is Ar-i-a-doss > Ariados

Also, it's is definitely not Gary-dowse, it's Gy-ara-doss

I never had much of a problem with names, but a bunch of friends and family did over the years. Here's what comes to mind:
Rattata - RAT a tat
Suicune - SOO uh soon
Ho-oh - HAH who
Kyogre - KOR jee
Rayquaza - ray GRAHN zuh

I'll admit, as a kid sometimes I would initially emphasize the wrong syllable, but I rarely did I manage to foul the names up as hard as that. Except for one, who ironically is one of my favorite pokemon: Chimecho as chim-ME-cho

Venusaur pronounced as V-EEVA-saur, just because the CN Hindi dub used to pronounce it that way, and I got used to it till I learned the correct pronounciation.
Pidgeot as Pidge-AAEE for the same reason

Mantine as Man-TEEN
Entei as En-TAAEE
Mawile as MAEW-ile
Aron as AER-on
Hippopotas as Hippopo-TUS

It still annoys me how they mispronounce Kabuto...SMH..I think they are just too lazy and don't care to say it right...Heck if they cover the flight cost and pay me 2000 dollars I will do the English recording of JUST that name in apps such as the Pokedex Pro...

My brothers and I used to mispronounce SS Anne as SS Ayin, and Ecruteak as Eucrateak. I have no idea why we couldn't say it right.

As far as Pokemon go, the first that comes to mind is Rattata, pronounced it as Ruh-tata.

I had a lot of trouble with Vivillon. The obvious way to screw it up is to just pronounce the l's, but on top of that I somehow added an extra i in there are thought it was Vivillion, so much so that I thought the anime was wrong when I saw the episode with Viola for the first time.

I used to think that Raikou was pronounced "rai-kū," and that Growlithe was pronounced "GROWL-thī."

I will never say Co-buh-LION, as that is stupid, I will call it Co-BAH-lion
I shall always call it Vi-ri-zee-on, and not Vi-RAI-zee-on
As a kid I pronounced it Bast-oh-don, rather than Bast-EE-oh-don
There are probably others I say wrong, I've just never heard the "right" way.

I used to say ARSE-ee-ous in stead of Ark-ee-us, and didn't we all once say Grooo-don and Kyo-GREE in stead of Ky-oh-ger and Grou-don? Aha.

I've never really pronounced a Pokemon's name wrong. My mom has called Bulbasaur - Bubbasaur.
