Oldboy - 10

Amazing Korean modern masterpiece in film. I've only seen it a couple of times, but seriously that film is so great at showing the pursuit of revenge at its lowest. Everyone should watch it.

Super Shark. Syfy original move.

5/10 because although the acting was garbage and the special effects not so awesome, I liked the shark attack scenes like when
it jumps on the beach and eats the models.

Equilibrium (2002) - 6/10

Pretty entertaining -- it was fun to watch, but not hugely original or deep. Years from now, I'll probably just remember this for Christian Bale doing some kind of martial arts with guns for a good chunk of the film. You'll either find the action scenes very cool or very tacky.

The Hunger Games (Warning: Spoilers)

So roughly 22 hours ago, I finished reading the book, so I thought "Why not see what the film is like?". Personally, I rate "The Hunger Games" as a fantastic book - definitely one of the best of the last 10 years. The film though? As far as adaptations go, it was a pretty bad one in my opinion.

First off, there's the pace. In the book, around half of the book is focused on District 12 and Katniss' life there, as well as the preparation for the Games. In the film, we're sped through that - so much so that by the time Katniss volunteers herself as tribute, Gale's only said 1-2 lines and had about a minute of screen time, as has Prim (which really took the emotion away from the scene). Honestly, so much was cut out of the film that it could be called an unintelligible mess (in fact, my brother, who was watching the film with me, kept on asking me to fill in the gaps). The main cuts that annoyed me were:
- District 12 prior to the games, such as Gale and Prim.
- The majority of Rue and Katniss' interaction.
- The District 11 bread after Rue's death.
- Foxface laughing at the Careers' destroyed food (Foxface is my favourite character. Sue me).
- Cato being in the Feast scene (Seriously?!). Also, the food at the feast?
- The muttations resembling the fallen tributes.
- The fact that Katniss and Peeta were putting on a lot of their reactions and such.
- A lot Katniss' bonding with Cinna (in fact, this film pretty much lacked a lot of the bonding).

This all added up to the actual games having no real drama at all; despite being so addictive in the book that I continued reading until 2am on an uncomfortable chair due to the kitchen being the only room with light after dark.

There were also other small details, like the Cornucopia being black instead of gold like the book, Rue not being in the net when she was stabbed like in the book (also, I swear the spear went through her? In the film it looked more like a flesh wound). I can understand some of the other changes, like the whole Pin thing (as frankly, the mayor's daughter wasn't that big of a character at all).

Now, for a pluses - the casting was fantastic. Haymitch, Effie and Rue stand out in particular (and even Foxface was fantastic!) - the only ones I didn't like were Cato, who I felt should have looked bulkier and more intimidating, as well as Thresh, who in the book came across more as a pissed off nice guy, not a stereotypical angry guy. I'm indifferent to Cinna - he was good, but I imagined him as being more flamboyant in the book. I loved the costume and set designs too; they were superb and I love how the Capital and the control room scenes are given such bright, colourful colours despite being so dark.

However, the sound quality wasn't great (and I was watching this on blu-ray). Some of the lines (particularly Katniss') were hard to understand at times.

Overall, the book is fantastic and I would not be surprised if in years to come, it is regarded as a literary classic. The film though? Forgettable, to be honest. I'm kind of glad that the director isn't returning for the next book, although I'm surprised to hear that Suzanne Collins herself actually worked on the screenplay for this adaptation.

6.5/10

I recently watched three movies, so I'll rate them all. I'll go in the order I saw them.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

I initially wasn't too interested in this movie, but I saw it on Cartoon Network, and decided why not? I ended up enjoying it! It was such a cute movie. My favorite character has got to be the policeman guy. He was just too lolzy. I can relate to Flint, sort of, as well. I know how it feels to have people give up on you or your dream while you're still as persistent as ever and refuse to give up on your ambition. I'm the same way. I have big dreams that some people don't think I can possibly achieve. But I never give up. I'm known for my dedication and persistence, just like he is. Overall, I give this movie a 7/10. I wouldn't say it was excellent, but it was enjoyable. :)

Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa

Omg, this was such a funny movie. I enjoyed learning Alex's backstory and the relationships that he, Marty, Melman, and Gloria developed with the other African animals of their kind. And the penguins, as always, were lolzy and funny. King Julian remains my favorite character in the movies and the penguins' tv show. <3 9/10! Excellent movie, though not quite as great as the first, imo.

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

OMFG THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOOOOME! I totally loved it! As in the first movie, Ben Stiller was amazing and hilarious, and all the new museum exhibit characters were amazing. I also lol'd hard at the cameos of Darth Vader and Oscar the Grouch. I also liked Robin Williams's return as Teddy Roosevelt. Also, I lol'd hard at Abe Lincoln. This movie was just ace and top quality and incredible. 10/10!

Beautiful Boxer

9/10

The film is just awesome.
Noog Toom is lovely, I really wish and I want to be as strong as her someday.

Gangs of New York- 10/10

Up there with Casino as my favorite Scorsese films, and my number one film of all the time. The music, the era being capture so perfectly, and the entire plot makes it one of my must watch.

The Three Stooges

6/10

Better than I expected. The jokes were pretty well done and maybe even funny. Although I found the kid actors to more convincing than the adult actors.

Total Recall (2012) - 8/10

The special effects were incredible, and it more or less stayed true to the original. It was kind of hard to follow if you didn't keep your eyes absolutely glued to the screen the whole time, but otherwise, I'd have to say it was pretty awesome.

The Avengers (2012) - 9.5/10

Awesome movie, it lived up to my expectations B]
(gave it a 9.5 because I didn't really like the way they handled Hawkeye :\)

Can't wait for the 2nd one!

(spoiler of the 2nd movie)
OMG THANOS! @_@

Funny, I just now watched The Avengers as well.

I give it a 10/10! Iron Man is still my favorite hero ever (Tony Stark is just so funny and his suit is epic. Robert Downey Jr. did him perfectly as always), but I thought Hawkeye was badass. He can friggin aim perfectly with his bow without even looking! That takes serious skill.

And Thanos is the name of that guy from the scene after the end credits? Yeah, I'm also gonna say there's definitely going to be an Avengers 2.

Pokemon :The Rise of Darkrai It was better than I expected. A rather darker plot than most Pokemon movies and wonderful, music that is also relaxing.

8/10

Now I just finished watching Spooky Buddies. Gosh, I've gotten to see a lot of movies lately, huh? lol

Anyway, as all the Air Buddies films are, this one was great! Those beagle puppies were SO cute! Pip especially. One of his siblings looks a lot like my beagle too. Snow Buddies is still my favorite out of all the Buddies movies so far (though I have yet to see Santa Buddies, and soon enough, Treasure Buddies will be released), but this one is probably my second fav. I rate it a 9.5/10. The only problem I had with it is that the Buddies themselves didn't really play the biggest role. Their owners did. I thought that was neat, but the Buddies should've had an equally large role, because they're the stars of this series, after all!

Still, the best part has to be
Budderball farting to send the Hell Hound's (I think that's what he was called? Can't believe I forgot already lol) attack right back at him to turn him to stone! Oh man, that was priceless! And epic too! Who knew such an evil and powerful villain could be defeated by a FART? XD
Definitely my favorite scene in ANY of the Buddies movies so far!

I definitely recommend this movie for every Halloween!

I'm really looking forward to Santa Buddies and Treasure Buddies now. ^^

Big Trouble in Little China.

9/10.

A true classic. I remember watching it a few times when I was a kid.

Resident Evil: Retribution
4/10

Reason for low rating? Simple. Its not even close to the game's storyline. While It may borrow couple of elements from the games, It still isn't following the storyline of the games. Oh boy, here we are for another sequel. I admit, the first and second one was decent, but after that, It became shit. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REBOOT THE RESIDENT EVIL MOVIES?

Rat Race

8/10

It's a hilarious, and old movie that still makes me laugh till this day. X3

Poltergeist 10/10

Just an awesome movie. I was really scared watching it as a kid, now not so much :p
