Gym leaders/ Pokémon League

It's the power difference, around lv 20 most pokemon are still the same, a lv 20 Dratini vs a lv 20 oh i dunno something random, lv 20 Noctowl, is pretty evenly matched, I'd even have money on the Noctowl to win as the early moveset for dragons is limited "twister all the way" but a lv 50 dragonite is much more powerful than a lv 50 Noctowl, so as to get the most power and challenge from the dragons, they make them the higher levels. Plus maybe it is a bit of a cliche but dragon is seen by many as the ultimate type ever since gen 2 really weakend psychic, it'd look odd to have any high ranking types early on. Like you never have a Ice type early on, or have a Psychic type early on. there supposed to be a tough challenge at the end.
And I don't share that sentiment unfortunately.

Dragon-type is the same as Electric is the same as Water is the same as any type in my opinion. They're all equal. So to see Dragons get the final Gym again is a little like seeing another Rock-type Gym as the first Gym -- it's been done, let's try something else (which they've been good about the last two Gen's, so who am I to complain).

And what exactly would there be sour grapes about? That's a saying for when someone is wrong and didn't get their way, and doesn't like it. I was just asking for evidence as I'd not heard this news before, and you backed it up with evidence when asked so I believe it. What exactly is there to have sour grapes about???
More than half your post was quotes by me. I felt like I was getting the stinkeye all of a sudden.

Holy shit I was correct on having a female electric gym leader.

With the gym typings, it leaves us the following types for Elite 4:

Psychic
Dark
Steel
Poison
Fighting
Ghost
Rock

Which, in my opinion, are getting pretty stale with Elite 4 themes. :(

I wonder who will be champion now, if the gym leaders (Iris especially) are involved in the plot. Will it be Cheren or the other girl (is she called Belle), or a new character?

I'll try not to spoil the answer for myself though, it'll be tough waiting till spring.

I didn't see Iris as the last Gym Leader coming. Being so young and a traveling comanion to Ash in the anime an be so misleading. Hooray for unexpected twists!!

Well, maybe not that unpredictable, as Dragon Trainers are always met onkly towrds the end of the game. Niceto see her Sugimori artwork too.

Wouldn't Dento know her though?

Rumors say the champion is N's brother, can't prove or disapprove this at all until I have the games.

I think the rumor that that was in also said one of the E4 was Normal and Flying, which doesn't seem likely.

Those rumors that were posted on Pokejungle a few weeks ago are apparently false now. They mentioned something about the first Elite Four member having Normal/Flying types...

Well, the official gym roster is confirmed and we have a Flying-type user amongst them.

We've had double types in Johto. A Fighting and Dragon type.

I personally believe this is fake. I'm wondering how their going to play Iris being a Gym Leader in the Anime.

Same way Misty and Brock were.

Well, actually, it is a bit different this time around. Iris is the last Gym Leader... I do so hope she owns a Kibago only in the show...

I could see Iris losing her memory and only has her Ononoksusu's baby Kibago. As she's a Leader Dento can recognize her and deside to tag along to get her memories back. I also believe that Aloe is Iris' mom.

Iris being a Gym Leader was definately unexpected... and being the last one at that. I'd also like to throw in that the name of the last badge is the "Legend" Badge... which brings me back to that screenshot that we seen of her and that guy mentioning something about not being able to awaken the Legendary Dragons. Going with all that, and the fact that usually the main storyline with the evil Team gets all wrapped up around the time that you gotta defeat the 8th Gym makes me wonder more and more if Iris has some kind of importance in the plot.

I'll be quite now... I'm trying not to spoil myself, but... it's so damn tempting!:embarass::-(

We've had double types in Johto. A Fighting and Dragon type.
About that...

I think Johto was a special case. Being a sequel, they set out to give types to all the previous unused ones from the first games. Because of this, coincided with the fact that they decided to keep Bruno on the Elite 4 as a familiar face and bump Lance up to champion, we were treated to a somewhat double Elite 4. Though if you ask me, being the Champion excludes you from such typecasting and Bruno was always a mix of Rock and Fighting (to me).

They've been much more deliberate since then with the Gyms and such. Each time we get new Gyms, there's been redudancy with a previous gen. In Gen 3, we were treated to refreshed types, but in Gen 4 they didn't go out of their way to use the neglected types like they did when going from Gen 1 -> Gen 2. In other words, they're choosing who to pick based on other factors now. The only other time we've seen double type usage is in Pokemon Emerald, when Juan took over Wallace's position and Wallace moved up into champion (a bit like how Clair was 8th using Dragons and Lance was Champ using Dragons -- except dual water).

Each new Elite 4 seems fit to reuse at least one previous type that already occured prior. As it stands, I don't know how they're planning to construct this generations E4, but I'm willing to bet it won't be completely filled with new types, especially not ones that are currently in use at the Gyms.

I understand that Johto was special, but it's still a Double type league.

Bruno is just fighting type, proven by his rematch team in HGSS after Blue.

Thank you for proving my point even more VF.

Only because it featured Kanto, and so it couldn't repeat types. So because it was "special", you can't use it to prove your case.

He still used Rock-type Pokemon in every generation.

Emerald is a second obvious exception. You still can't use it to prove your point.

I like this set of gym leaders. I was a bit surprised that Iris was actually a gym leader. But I like it. I think that the electric one will have an Emonga and a Shimama. Probably a third one too.

My post must've gone over your head.

They don't do double types anymore. It's deliberately avoid unless it can't be helped. Only expect such a thing to occur during the third version, if at all.

Also, you apparently don't think Iris is really a gym leader, judging by your posts. The scans aren't fake.
