Mafia TWR Season '17 Mafia - 26/09/17 - Endgame: Army of ME

Bonus Scene: It's All About ME... No Longer
Bonus Scene: I had it written beforehnd in case Pika_pika42 was targetted by mafia Night 6 as Dylan/I expected (Pikochu was targetted instead).

Day 7: It's All About ME... No Longer

ME called the meeting off for the day. Caps was watching in shock as his beloved boss was willing to ban Jsach the moment he questioned ME's motives. He was starting to get suspicious; out of all the TWR staff, only him, ME and Darth was left; Sky and Lone were kept out of this as they haven't hosted any game in the past season. The WEs were gone, the EEs too, jd's last words were alarming... could it be that ME was actually the bad guy here? As much as he detested the idea of his boss doing something like this, he had to admit that with ME's troublesome past, it certainly was possible. Having enough of this, he decided to ask dig:

"Don't you think that ME is a bit suspicious here? I'm more willing to believe jd this time, especially after ME's rash decision with Jsach. I'd like to ask you a favor... since Zexy is gone and the only other TWR moderator involved is still too new and certainly not one to trust after all the times he's been GODDAMN MAFIA/INDEP AGAIN, could I be given more... benefits to research this further?"

dig nodded: "Unfortunately, I'll agree with you. I really don't like how ME tried to circumvent me like that when he banned Jsach; I don't fully trust his judgement anymore."

He then stepped forward and chanted: "By the power of Arceus, by the spirit of Helix, by the will of Archaic, I hereby promote you, TheCapsFan, to Super Moderator!" A beam of light appeared from dig's hand and was shot directly at Caps's heart, before exploding into a flash of blinding light. When visibility came back, Caps' italics were replaced by a shiny new bold. He then said:

"This will only be temporary, because I really need someone with equal power as him to fight him one on one, and would rather not jeopardize my or any other senior staff's safety. Now, go get him!"

Caps, always in time for everything, with his ironclad game schedule in hand, entered the meeting room the next morning. The hosts would make the same old boring jokes: "Hey Caps, you look... bold. Congrats!". ME then noticed what was happening and turned his head to see Caps, eye to eye: "Huh, how come I wasn't informed about this? Anyway, congratulations! Glad to have a replacement for Zexy-

Before ME could finish the sentence, Caps threw his ironclad game schedule, hard as iron, to ME, who blocked it with his equally durable mechanical arm. ME looked surprised: "What was that for?! If you don't want this schedule anymore now that you're an SMod, there are more polite ways to go about this-

Caps interrupted him once again: "ENOUGH, BOSS! Boss... it pains me greatly to say this word. We were hired together, ME. I always looked up to you and was honestly happy when you became our Section Head, even though I wasn't promoted alongside you and Zexy. But now... how could you do this to all the people of TWR, who supported you this much the past few years?! LOOK AT HIM, PEOPLE! jd was right, he's the one behind it all. With my new powers, I searched some staff sections hidden from regular mods and found out, guess what... The Machine. He's tinkered it, and now he can make anybody a ME against their will as he sees fit! Who knows how many of you were already converted! Darth, probably you too, huh? This would explain why you do not question a thing all these days."

ME realised he was caught and went for retaliation: "You got me, but this is not over; you think you can beat ME in battle! Or that I'd play fair? Come on, this won't be 1v1, it will be 1v5. COMMAND, ACTIVATE! ME TRANSFORMATION, EVERYONE, 100%!"

As he chanted that, four of the hosts started Regenerating into MEs, and a blinding explosion happened once again; and now 5 MEs were standing before Caps, all looking identical. He quickly noticed that the people that were now missing, and were thus transformed, are Darth, MCH, Sword and Piko.

Having no way to tell the MEs apart, Caps charged towards one of them, who tried to keep him at bay with his sword: "I am Master of Espadas, formerly known as Sword Master! There's no way I'm letting you reach our leader, first you need to defeat ME!"

Caps would throw ironclad clocks one after another, but ME would deflect them with his sword; yet at some point, Caps outsmarted him, found an opening, and threw one that took ME out:

Dear Alex Kaz, you are Sword Master, represented by The Simpsons Mafia.
The game is famous for having 5 mafia members, making it unbalanced. Only one was lynched and the others quickly overpowered the town.

There was a mason team consisting of a Miller and a 3x JOAT, the Simpsons siblings. You are the Miller Mason. You have a mason partner you share a chat with and know that each other is town. Yet you will appear mafia in all copchecks.

You are allied with the town and win when all opposing forces are eliminated while at least one member of your faction is alive
---
Converted to Neighbor Cult Member, then Cult Member

The next ME Caps had to face was the mathematical type: "My equations are always accurate; there's a 0% chance you're going to win! Mathematical Enigma, formerly known as returnofMCH, signing in!"

This one was easy to beat, however, as all the math was just big talk; a single ironclad clock was enough to take ME out.

Dear Elementar, you are returnofMCH, represented by Random Messages 2 Mafia.
The game is famous for being the sequel of the August 2015 hit, Random Messages Mafia. Its theme and the FT Maniacal Engineer provided made it amusing. Role-wise, it had two neighborhoods, of 5 staff members (2 were mafia) and 3 millers (all town) with extra one-shot roles respectively. However, because of inactivity, it ended in an easy mafia win by TheCapsFan, MegaPod and (the accidentally lynched) Pikochu.

You are the Miller Neighbor 1x Roleblocker. You will appear as mafia in copchecks. You share a neighbor OC chat with other players. One night in the game, you may select a player and attempt to prevent them from using their role.

You are allied with the town and win when all opposing forces are eliminated while at least one member of your faction is alive

Converted to Neighbor Cult Member

The next ME to face Caps could generate electric shocks, not unlike a Pikachu: "I'll just peek at you! Your ironclad clocks are nothing in front of my electric shocks! Mouse Electrocute, formerly known as Pikochu, is ready to blast you off!"

ME would then use Electro Ball on Caps, but he threw another one of his ironclad clocks to deflect it. He'd then just throw one more back at ME to take him out as well.

Dear DarthWolf, you are Pikochu, represented by Periodic Table Mafia.
The game is famous for FinalArcadia the Serial Killer who somehow managed to claim indep, get proven a liar and still win

Another major feature was the three way masonry with power roles, of which one was a Roleblocker which existed in another non-Mason copy in the town leading to counterclaims and mislynches. But the Mason picked for this game is a differen one. As a result, you are the Beloved Mason. You share a Mason chat with some other player and know that each other is town. If you die, the next phase is skipped.

Caps knew that the next ME would be stronger than the other three, because he was a regular mod before being converted; DarthWolf, also known as Master Waffles, Kingmaker, Betrayer, and several other names... what he did not know, however, is what he would specialise in as a ME; he can't use waffles, because he has to be a ME, not an MW. The one known as Darth before finally appeared: "You think you got cool because you got the bolds, huh? Well, I was turned into an SMod just like you, but I'm SH too! It is ME, Monarchy Enabler, the Kingmaker of legend, that shall take you down! Leader won't even have to lay a finger on you!"

ME summoned several legendary kings to defeat Caps, but they were no match for him; some of them have been great men, proud warriors, talented swordsmen; but they didn't have SMod powers. He then just threw an ironclad clock at ME, who had no way to actually defend himself other than summoning kings.

Dear The Light, you are DarthWolf, represented by Star Wars Mafia.
The game is famous for the 2-man independent team that could posess others and use their powers. It also included an Oracle role, clearly influenced by Olive, that Zexy played with a similar restriction.

You are the Oracle. Every phase (both days and nights!) you may ask the hosts a Yes/No question and you will get the answer at the end of the phase. The question needs to be such that could be answered before the role PMs are sent out, this means it must be related to setup and not to role assignment.

And finally, it was the time for Caps to face the real ME; this would be the hardest battle, but he had to win this one. Yet ME first had a word to say: "You reached this far; you defeated the Elite Four, but I'm the Champion! The others are just small fish compared to ME, the real deal! Perhaps The Machine isn't that great after all, the converted aren't perfect or as powerful as ME. But now, it's just you and ME left, and I'll pulverize you! I'm better than you in everything; became SMod before you, became SH, have held the position for longer and thus know how to better use my powers, I've got a mechanical arm, engineering and programming knowledge; what chance do you even have against ME?! I'll spare you, Caps; just give up now and join ME in my new reign, get Zexy's place and live a good life alongside ME. I really don't want to fight you, man."

Caps had nothing of it, though: "These powers were given to me by dig specifically to defeat you. He believes I can do it, and I must prove him right! I'm really really sorry it came down to this, more than you could ever imagine. But the hand of fate has been forced on us. Let's do what has to be done."

The battle between the two would last hours, all the hosts around were looking with an amused face, eating popcorn. ME and Caps would exchange blows evenly, until Caps got exhausted. "Just give up already" said ME, but Caps stood up, checked his clock, saw it was 23:59 and said: "Game over, ME! I AM CAPS, AND I AM ALWAYS IN TIME FOR EVERYTHING! I scheduled to have you defeated by midnight, and so it shall happen! You see, my special SMod power is that when I write something in this little book, Fate will make sure it happens! By the power of Arceus, by the spirit of Helix, by the will of Archaic, begone!"

As the clock struck midnight, Arceus, Lord Helix and Archaic all appeared; Arceus used Judgement on ME, and it was super effective. Lord Helix used Hydro Pump and made him faint. And finally, Archaic permabanned him.

Dear Pika_pika42, you are Maniacal Engineer, represented by Fruit Bowl Mafia 2.
The game is famous for its Flying Spaggheti Monster role which was played by Zexy. It was a 1x Deathproof Weak Cult Leader. It was roleblocked for several consecutive nights, but Zexy managed to use it after the Roleblocker death to recruit Elieson and force a 2-man Cult win. This marks the only occasion where a hostile independent winner has managed to also obtain the Most Unlucky Player Award of the year for the same game, despite winning it!

Noodless to say, your role will be the Flying Spaggheti Monster. As a result, you are the 1x Deathproof Weak Cult Leader. You may survive one attempt at your life, being a lynch, kill or recruiting mafia. Each night, you may select a person and attempt to recruit them in your Cult; if they are not mafia, they will join you and gain the same win condition as you; if they are mafia, you will die or lose your Deathproof shot. If you die, all your Cult members will also die.

You are allied with the cult and win when all opposing forces are eliminated while you are alive
Pika_pika42 - Maniacal Engineer - Fruit Bowl Mafia II - 1x Deathproof Weak Cult Leader
Elementar - returnofMCH - Random Messages Mafia II - Miller Roleblocker 1x Neighbor -> Neighbor Cult Member
Alex Kaz - Sword Master - The Simpsons Mafia - Miller Mason -> Neighbor Cult Member -> Cult Member
DarthWolf - Pikochu - Periodic Table Mafia - Beloved Mason -> Neighbor Cult Member -> Cult Member
The Light - DarthWolf - Star Wars Mafia - Oracle -> Cult Member

all died

I think with more activity, Town could've won.
Agreed; unfortunately, town was struck by the lack of activity and need for subs the most. With some well done OC using character claims and the Post Restrictor role, as well as Cult being defeated earlier, this could have gone much better for town.
Balanced, the Cult IMO seemed a bit swingy. That weak modifier means he could've easily undone his own work by complete accident and with no info method of his own, it was a huge risk at all times. Rest of the game seemed pretty fine to me.
I don't mind swing, it adds some cool twists to Role Madness games. Besides, don't forget that the game had to use roles from past games alone; there was no other way to include a Cult in, and ME asked me in private if I could include that specific role in the game, and I liked the idea.
For future games, please no % roles! I'm cryin' over here!
Once again, I didn't have much choice; jackatlasred had to get a role, the only possible game was YGO TCG Mafia, all the roles there were % based.

So we won. Coolio.

Did you enjoy the game?
Why yes, I did.
What did you think of the setup and the balance?
It was... interesting, I guess. I don't really care about this kind of thing, sooo
What did you think of the flavor text?
Entertaining for sure.
If you could change one thing in this game, what would it be?
No % roles. :p
Any feedback you'd like to provide, which WE can take into account for designing TWR Season '18 Mafia?
^

@Pikochu what were you talking about with pika losing hsi deathproof. I asked you back then what you meant since he didn't lose it yet at that point

Well, I was under the assumption that PP42 lost his deathproof because I thought he tried to convert CC which would have made him lose his deathproof. Therefore, it would have provided proof that Cookie is mafia-aligned.

Anyways, good game PP42. I am very bummed out that town lost to the cult because of inactivity. I knew for sure that CC was Mafia but was quivering on Slife. Either way, I had a feeling that town would have won had we had enough active players in that phase to lynch PP42. Folks, this is why you should try to be active!

@MegaPod, was the cult leader claim meant to be a fakeclaim or were you aware of cult actually existing?

Did you enjoy the game?

I did, though a bit salty about me exposing the cult in a solid manner and then not having enough votes to kill the cult leader due to inactivity.

What did you think of the setup and the balance?

Setup was great and I think this type of game would be hard to balance.

What did you think of the flavor text?

It's great!

If you could change one thing in this game, what would it be?

That time where the wagon switched from lynching the cult leader to just lynching a regular Mafia.

Any feedback you'd like to provide, which WE can take into account for designing TWR Season '18 Mafia?

No cults allowed[/b]

That's a funny story actually.
Pika lost his deathproof night 5(I think) when he was targeted by the mafia.
He would've lost it one night earlier (and would have been killed night 5 as a consequence) when he tried to convert MegaPod to prevent him from hunting the cult after we believed he really was itp cult cop, but was roleblocked xD

Well yeah... Congrats Elieson and my fellow cult members.
Thank you everyone. :D

Did you enjoy the game?
Of course. This has been a really good game for ME. I'll rate it up there with Artemis <3

What did you think of the setup and the balance?
The setup was really good. I liked the idea of including roles from various games in one game. I think this game was pretty well balanced, considering the setup.

What did you think of the flavor text?
Amazing. Especially the end where WE win. ;) :p

If you could change one thing in this game, what would it be?
Wouldn't have targeted Megapod N4 but was roleblocked, so luck was on our side. Yeah luck was totally with us this game. :)

Any feedback you'd like to provide, which WE can take into account for designing TWR Season '18 Mafia?
Will think about that later. As of now, savouring the victory. :p

Thanks to the hosts for the wonderful game.
And sorry to the Townies who I couldn't cult. WE are having a Cult Party and everyone's invited.

...Holy shit
Exactly. We shouldn't have won tbh. Inactivity plus luck did it for us. Not in the sense that we didn't deserve it, cuz we put some effort in, just that in a "proper" game we would've died long ago.

I was puzzled at first when, while night 5 Pika was hit and noone died, I saw that Piko was killed night 6 instead of Pika. I thought Cherub might have confused the two lmao. But taking a look at the number of players, if Cherub had killed Pika, he would have been lynched the day after most probably. So he made the right play of keeping us around, basically forcing the town to need him so they could lynch the cult head.
Reminded me of what I did in twr '17 as SK. Ah what a nice flashback that was.
only difference is he wasn't mod killed by faking win con

There were so so many ways for Pika to die, and WE were totally expecting it to happen, hence why WE prepared that bonus scene update. Yet everything went well for Cult in the end and ME asked to write the endgame update since they'd win after all.

While I believe Cult could've easily lost, I must say they deserve the win; they figured out much more mafia than the town by themselves.

This was TWR '17 dawg!
Uhm... oops!

To the Quote Book!

I'm curious as to what was everyone's post restriction when we had the post restriction phase. I can't think what would be my post restriction be.
